Borrowed From the Boys

Literally.

BR sweater, H&M scarf, AE jeggings,
Tommy Hilfiger boots (Winners)

This sweater used to belong to hubby from waaaay back when. I think so anyways. O wait, it could be mine. It's that old that I actually don't remember anymore.

I had to girl-ify it a bit, of course...

I continue to have the case of the Monday. I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts til Thursday. HAH!

Shimmer for Day

It's been a looong week, that's for sure.

Gap sweater, AE jegging (recent purch),
Aerosole boots (Winners)

That was me Thursday. If you think that was casual, you ain't see me on Friday. Hah!

What I like about this sweater, there's just enough shimmer to make it not too over-the-top for daytime. Or maybe it's just me...

With Saturday almost over, I just have another day to chill. And chill I shall!

Unadorned

What was that saying from Coco Chanel? Pile your accessories on then take 1 off at the end? Something like that?

Gap sweater, AE jeans (recent purch), Aerosole boots (Winners)

Well, I did the exact opposite. As in no accessories at all. I know I should have accessorized, but I wasn't really in the mood. Meh...

And I realize I'm wearing spring colors too, but hey, I thought with the gray weather we're having, why not inject a bit of color, no?

Getting Nekkid (Yah Right!)

Ever since my other sis brought to my attention that the color of this sweater is almost the same as my skin tone, I started associated it with nude skin.

Joe Fresh sweater, H&M collar necklace, AE jeggings,
Aerosole boots (Winners)

Don't ask me why that thought never crossed my mind when I bought it. Regardless, I continue to like the sweater. I'd like to think my skin does not look like a cable knit. Does it? HAH!

Kinda' losing momentum lately with my "writing". Not sure if it's the adjustment to the change of season, or work, or the books that I'm trying to finish, or god knows what else...

Must not lose speed... But then again, if I do, so what? hehe... Hmmm...

On an unrelated note, and late a day as it may be, just want to acknowledge the soldiers out there, both old and new, who put their lives on the line all in the name of our freedom. Happy Remembrance Day!

AND, tomorrow would've been my dad's 65th birthday. He would've been officially a senior. From down here, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! <3<3<3

Winter-y Copycat

As soon as I saw this look from one of my fave blog, I knew I was bound to copy it one of these days.

AE chambray shirt, Gap dress, Joe Fresh cuff,
Nicole Miller leggings (Costco),
belt & Aerosole boots (Winners)

Boy was I glad I layered. Got some heavy rain in the morning then the temp just really dipped by the afternoon. Not complaining. Still better than snow, definitely.

Definitely not complaining considering what some people are going thru right now no thanks to the recent hurricane. One thing that's definite was it put things in perspective for me, which seems to happen when major things happen around the world, whether jubilant or heart-breaking...

Watching the election coverage right now. Heck, I'm not even American and I feel vested in the result. Good luck America!

A Touch of Red

I'm actually away from the office Wednesday and Thursday. No, I'm not off work (I wish!). On some kind of course, so I guess it's almost like off work hehe...

AE chambray shirt, H&M belt (recent purch), Joe Fresh cuff,
Liz Claiborne skirt (Sears, recent purch), Aerosole boots (Winners)

Not really a skirt person at work but I do try every now and then. How can you go wrong with a black skirt after all, eh?

(customary hand in pockets shot:p)

It's got pockets too, so bonus!

On to more learning...

When You Live in a Coastal City

I may have mentioned this already in the past but I just find it really interesting how mercurial the weather is in this part of town due to the city's topography and location.

H&M scarf (recent purch), Gap button-down shirt,
AE jeggings, Old Navy flats

Stepped out for work, and it was tad on the cool side. Just a tad.

Gap trench coat, Aldo purse

Arrived at the office, a different office, on the other side of (one of) the bridge, and it was chilly. Even too chilly for my trench. And kinda' spitting too. What's up with that!

Joe Fresh cuff, BR bracelet, gift

Apparently, crossing the bridge is all it takes to feel the difference in weather/temperature. So it seems. To me, anyway.

Then Comes the Richer Color

Boy am I glad it's Friday!

BR jean jacket & men's belt, AE button-down, Gap skinny jeans,
Clarks flats (The Bay), scarf (gift)

It's been a long week for sure. Some major change at work, emails were flying back and forth like cray cray most of the week. BUT the good thing is it's a long weekend, yay Thanksgiving!

(love the plum-y color of these jeans)

AND on top of that, I have 2 short work weeks to look forward to after. See, it's not even Thanksgiving yet and I have something to be thankful for already. Actually, I'm always thankful, or I try to be anyways...

TGIF! (See, there's another one HAH!)

Then Come the Boots

Didn't think I'd be hauling out the boots this early in the season, but I guess I just did.

Gap dress, AE belt, H&M scarf, Aerosole boots (Winners)

But at least I'm still not wearing tights or leggings, so I suppose that makes it a tad better. Just a tad. It is still early Fall, right?

Gap jacket

I feel like I'm going to some square dance (do people still do that?). And I also just realized my (arm) accessories are missing in this pic. Must really not rush sometimes. Not that the pix are any better when I'm not rushing...

HAH!

Not Another Stripes

Why, yes, it is! HAH!

Nevada striped (shark-bite style) shirt (Sears, recent purch),
AE jeggings, Old Navy flats

What can I say, can't resist, ok?

Well, I wanted to be comfortable as well when met up with friends Saturday night.

Stripes, check. Comfortable, check. End of statement.

Red and Black

Lat night, went out for dinner and drinks for a friend's birthday. It was almost a last-minute kinda' thing as another friend and I only talked about it Friday afternoon. Those are the best, I find, sometimes.

Alexandra Bartlett top (Winners), AE jeggings,
Melia sandals (The Bay, recent purch),
Cristian Siriano for Payless clutch

Figured can't go wrong with red and black at any time, day or night. I'm clearly not the dress-up kinda gal.

I love these sandals but had to break it in a bit. The leather at back part where it zips up needs to soften up. I know only women will ever say things like that. And I don't know why I don't wear this top more often. Although you can't see it that clearly, it's got asymmetrical folds on one of its sleeves which makes for an understated feature.

The evening was fun, as expected. Not a bad way to spend Saturday night, for sure!

Early Fall

One of the many things I like about this city is how mild September can be. It's as if it knows that summer can be a crap shoot so it tries to make up for it by delaying fall. For the most part, anyway...

Esprit dress, AE belt, Payless flats

Figured here's another opportunity to air out one of my dresses sans tights and boots.

Needless to say, another gorgeous day in the city.  Crisp air in the early morning and evening, but all warm and sunny throughout the day.

Gotta love late summer/early fall, eh?

Must Hold on to the Sun

Never fails, after being off for 4 days, it felt weird returning to work mid-week. Not that I'm complaining.

AE chambray shirt (recent purch), Gap jeggings,
Eurostep loafers (The Bay)

And of course, starting the work week when most is already in mid-week, it felt like I needed to catch up and  I end up feeling really busy. Not sure why. Again, not that I'm complaining. Pffft...

Don't I look like a walking sun? HAH!

Love it...

Seasons Change...

... Feelings change... People change... I'm gonna totally age myself (meh) but remember that Expose song?

Gap jacket, H&M blouse, AE jeggings, Clarks flats (The Bay)

The weather, for starter, is definitely cooler. I think there was even rain at some point. But it's more than that...

My usual office, that I haven't really been in a couple of weeks decided to meet up after work today. After not seeing them for weeks, it felt really nice to spend some time together. And to me, as happy as the event was, what makes it poignant, though I don't dare tell them that 'cause I don't want them to think that I miss them that much (hah!), is the fact that there are changes looming on the horizon. No words spoken about it, but we all know, things will start changing real soon, and it'll be a big change at that. Heck, I'm not even there and I'm feeling it already.

I'm such a sap, aren't I? I don't care. To me, first of all, that's a good sign that I love the people I work with. And besides, there's nothing wrong with that, is there?

Oy, all part of change, eh?... And growth... And learning... *sigh*...

Never Mind Today, Let's Just Talk About Yesterday

Today was just an average start of the week. Busy as heck! Bah!

And I was running late, surprise, surprise. Ok, not super late, but late enough that I just put on whatever. Mind you, not that it would look so different than what I've been posting here so far, heck, I'm pretty sure, it was still better than some of the ones I've posted here, but I guess I just couldn't be bothered with taking pictures. So, I thought I'd just post yesterday's outfit...

Jessica seersucker jacket (Sears),
Gap tank & boyfriend roll-up khaki shorts,
J Crew belt, AE sandals

Don't I look like I was ready to go boating or something? hehe And no, didn't go anywhere near the water. We actually went to check out the food truck fest nearby for lunch. O wait, I guess we threaded the sea of people to get to the food trucks we like. HAH!

It was pretty nice for a Sunday kinda' thing. The weather was just right. We got to try different food, all yummy at that. Coffee afterwards, chatting and people-watching. Then a nice stroll home.

Such a nice relaxing day. Nowhere near today's pace. Holding on to that relaxed feeling. Hopefully it'll sustain me for the rest of the week. Wishful thinking, I know... O well.. Is it Friday yet? HAH!

Water Safari

Guess the dog days of summer are in full swing. Love it!

H&M dress, AE sandals, Nygard necklace (Sears)

This is another fave dress that I've had for years. Not bad, considering it's H&M (no offense). And every time I wear it, I don't really do much with it other than change my accessories/shoes. How can I? There's a lot going  there already with the print, no?  But it's definitely made getting ready in the morning much more simple.

I love the back details of this dress. Don't think I'll ever get tired of it.

Right after work, the same woman I walked home with yesterday had her birthday celebration today at the beach. Yes, at the beach, nice! It ended being a small group as some people couldn't make it. I'm the only one from work who made it. Then there were her family and a few close friends. It was such a lovely event. Couldn't have asked for better company, weather, location. On a Thursday at that!

TGIFT!

Blue and Yellow

Can you guess what colors I'm wearing today? HAH! (Talk about creative, eh?)

Esprit tunic top, AE jegging,
Soludos for J Crew espadrilles (recent purch)

This is a fave color combo for sure. The top? Feel free to ignore it hehe Didn't have much energy when getting ready for work this morning. Strangely enough, I did wake up at a reasonable time.

I love the color of these espadrilles. The unfortunate part is I don't think Soludos are designed for feet like mine, with narrow heels, that is. Although I think I may still be able to do something about it (hopefully), so not totally giving up on it just yet.

At first I thought I'd be joining some people at work for somebody's going-away party after work. But as it turned out, was able to get in to an advanced screening of Total Recall. Score! And yes, definitely yes on the  movie. Colin Farrell, what can I say. *grin*

Summer Breeze

Another perfect sunny day. *happy sigh* Sunny with a bit of a breeze, just enough to cool one off.

J Crew shirt, AE jeggings, Gap belt, Clarks flats (The Bay)

It'd been more perfect if it wasn't spent inside an office that feels like a furnace in the morning and a freezer in the afternoon. But that's neither here nor there...

If I haven't mentioned it before, I'm saying it now, I love these pants. I got them last fall(?), and I've worn it to death already. I just love how the color is season-less (is that even a word?). I'm pretty sure it's cost-per-wear is approaching to cents now (ok, that's probably an exaggeration, but it's pretty close, I'm sure).

Funny how the same girlfriend I mentioned yesterday wearing something similar to mine just happens to be wearing similar color palette as mine today, again (wish I remembered to take a pic, then it'd been 2 headless figures hehe). How about that, eh?

Extra Looong Weekend

Since I didn't really book any vacation this summer, I thought I'd take a few days and attach it to a stat holiday. Hence, the 5-day weekend.

AE button-down shirt, Gap trousers & belt, Clarks flats (The Bay)

I really relished last Wednesday, knowing it was the last workday of the week. I ended up leaving work much later than I anticipated, just because I didn't want to leave too much stuff hanging. Oh, I know there was even no need for that, but like I said, it's what I wanted (or didn't want).

I didn't realize how tired I was until I woke up at 10 yesterday morning. Damn books keeping me up later than usual.

And since my free time has officially started as of yesterday morning, I decided to meet a friend for lunch yesterday. That was quite enjoyable. And today, I've decided to do nada.

Ah, free time *sigh*

(Side story: this is probably the farthest I can go with this half-tuck/semi-tuck business. Wanna know why? I tried a half-tuck one time, and a colleague surreptitiously pulled me aside to whisper in my ear that I missed tucking the other half of my shirt. BURN!... HAHA... So the fashion limits have been set, so it seems, by the fashion gods for mere mortals such as myself. *giggle*)
