And I hate to sound like a broken record but as usual, I was running late. Oh, Monday, Monday...

What I like about this sweater, there's just enough shimmer to make it not too over-the-top for daytime. Or maybe it's just me...

With Saturday almost over, I just have another day to chill. And chill I shall!

High of 8º

Sis and I were chatting on Twitter the other day and we were laughing (virtually) about the way the weather people talk about the temp for the day. Today, for example, they said it'd be a high of 8º (Celsius). How can it be a high, when it's only 8º?!?! That's single digit temp! I know, I know, they meant max. But we just thought it was funny when they put it that way. No?

Brrrrr... it was chilly for sure! But sunny though. Almost felt like East Coast temp. Definitely called for warmer coat.

And I realize I'm wearing spring colors too, but hey, I thought with the gray weather we're having, why not inject a bit of color, no?

So I finally succumbed to the hype about the Old Navy Rockstar jeans. What? Is it just me? Was there no hype? I thought there was. No? hehe

Now I can see why, hype or not. I love how this jeans fit me! And comfy at that!

It's not super skinny since I did go a size up, which seems to be the recommendation out there. I probably didn't have to, I realize, after wearing it, but hey, at least I know now for next time (what next time??).

Thought the color was appropriate too for the weather we're having. What's that got to do with the jeans itself? Nothing. Just saying...

No Time, No Time

I suppose this new assignment I have has got me more tired than I thought, and I'm not even realizing it. On Monday, I forgot to set the alarm the night before, overslept by an hour. Yikes! Then last night, I remembered to set the alarm but what did I do? I kept hitting the snooze button and got up almost 45 minutes later. Hey, I guess 15 minutes better than the day before.

On a sunny note, no really, I mean, literally sunny, hehe the weather's been gorgeous. Not sure how much longer we're gonna have this kind of weather but soaking up every bit of it.

Feeling that itch again to wear every imaginable color I have in the closet. Fall is just around the corner, after all, as in 3 days around the corner, no?

Is the weather alone enough to make up for the busy-ness of work lately? Not really, but it's a mighty fine consolation, for sure..

Anyhoot, with the temp starting to dip slowly but surely, layering time has begun. And I'm all for layering, not only to warm me up, but also, I find, because it's a lazy way of hiding a multitude of sins. HAH! The only thing with layering is it can also hide details that you don't mind showing.

... especially when it's in the back. Too bad, eh? I love those shiny buttons and the stitching on the pockets.

New (Striped) Kid in Town

Actually thought I wouldn't wear this new striped shirt til fall because it isn't short-sleeved after all (it's actually 3/4 sleeves but I know you can't see that). Guess I was wrong.

Quite interesting I thought to be seeing the same work from a different angle. I almost feel like a new employee again. Ok, not really. But definitely feels like the new kid in that side of town.

Well, it is the end of August after all, isn't it? Nevertheless, it still feels a lil weird, while getting for work this morning for example, feeling the slight crispness in the air. But hey, it's still summer as far as I'm concerned. It ain't over til it's over...

This slight change in the weather, it's almost fitting, I suppose, coinciding with the (slight) change at work for me. Just like summer kinda' leaving us now, I'm also kinda' leaving (or just did) my current office/position temporarily. Seasons change...

And of course, first day away from my office, announcements were made for some major change ahead for the office. Cray cray!

As soon as I got to work yesterday, first thing I heard was I look cute(?) and my top looks like a picnic table.

Well, it does, doesn't it? HAH! It's funny 'cause that's the very reason why I wasn't a fan of gingham in the past but I obviously got over that.

And funny enough, remarks like that, in my young(er) years, would have sent my insecurities to the forefront that it would've bugged me and made me feel uncomfortable for the rest of the day. Oh, the follies of youth...

Now, I actually thought comments like that are just amusing. Gave me something to write about, for starter. HAH!

This top was purchased over the weekend at the store. It's been going in and out of my virtual cart for months now but never got around to going thru with it. Luck of all luck, it was on clearance at the store and with an additional 20% off thanks to an email alert, I figured I had no other reason not to buy it. Well, that's how I'm justifying it anyways hehe...

White on (Almost) White

I thought with all the array of colors I subjected my coworkers to the last couple of days, that I'd give their eyes a break and tone it down.

I originally thought I'd go for a full-on white on white, but I kinda' balked at the idea last minute. The klutz in me surfaces every now and then, didn't want to take that chance.

'Been really loving the weather. I almost want to ask why can't it be like this ALL the time? But then, would I appreciate it as much as I do now if it's constantly like this. When we lived in LA, having this kind of weather most of the time, did I appreciate it really? Don't remember now. Oh, who am I kidding! I probably did and now wish that it's always this nice. But then again, I know I doubly appreciate it now. And when the temperature dips down again, hey, I can always cozy up with hubs.

Summer Lovin'

After what feels like eternal whining over the crummy weather we've been having, it seems we're finally getting our share of summer. Wheee!!!

One thing that's awesome about this city, if and when we do have a proper summer, is that it offers the perfect summer weather. Must be because of the mountains and the ocean that surround us. The sun is shining, skies are blue, temperature in a comfortable 20's(C). What more can you ask for!

Other than the weather, not much going on really. Work is work. Between documents and clients, talked about a certain book (nudge-nudge, wink-wink... hehe).
