RED

Last month, I finally decided  to buy colored tights.

H&M dress, Tristan tank, Joe Fresh tights (recent purch),
Aerosole boots (Winners)

I guess I didn't have the the nerve to wear this particular one til now. I loved this color the moment I started seeing it in some of my fave blogs. And I guess it took me a lil longer to figure out how to incorporate it in my wardrobe.

And thought I'd start out in small doses. Just a peek here, for now, and maybe more next time. Hah! The good thing is I love red with any shade of browns/creams/taupes.

The whole time I was getting ready, every time I looked down on my legs, one song kept sticking out in my head, Red and Black, from Les Miserables. It's just as well, since I'm getting excited, to begin with, and cannot wait for the movie version to come out. Is it Christmas yet? hehe

Getting Ready for Christmas?

Today was spent on an all-day meeting.

Gap cardi, H&M infinity scarf & belt (recent purch),
Old Navy dress, Joe Fresh tights, Born boots (Winners)

Funny how just sitting down all day listening and talking, mostly listening, gets me more exhausted sometimes.

No, I'm not sick, just cold:p

I like how someone said how the color of this dress is really nice and how ready I look for Christmas at the same time. So I'm not really sure if I was complimented or insulted. Hah! Meh, I love this dress regardless.

Darn lighting! It's violet, I swear!

This was inspired by their shoes. I thought, hey, why not!

Old Navy cap-toe flats

Hump day... thank god... almost there...

A Touch of Red

I'm actually away from the office Wednesday and Thursday. No, I'm not off work (I wish!). On some kind of course, so I guess it's almost like off work hehe...

AE chambray shirt, H&M belt (recent purch), Joe Fresh cuff,
Liz Claiborne skirt (Sears, recent purch), Aerosole boots (Winners)

Not really a skirt person at work but I do try every now and then. How can you go wrong with a black skirt after all, eh?

(customary hand in pockets shot:p)

It's got pockets too, so bonus!

On to more learning...

Color Me Red

Woke up this morning and they say it was gonna rain all day. So what did I decide to wear? Why a dress of course.

Old Navy dress (recent purch), cardi (old),
NIcole Miller legging (Costco), belt & Tommy Hilfiger booties (Winners)

Got this dress end of last month when it was clearly no longer dress season, but it just doesn't feel right to wait for next summer to wear it. I love the color and the scant flowers. I had to wear it now... hehe...

Now I just have to come up with more ways to wear this dress in the colder season...

Red and Black

Lat night, went out for dinner and drinks for a friend's birthday. It was almost a last-minute kinda' thing as another friend and I only talked about it Friday afternoon. Those are the best, I find, sometimes.

Alexandra Bartlett top (Winners), AE jeggings,
Melia sandals (The Bay, recent purch),
Cristian Siriano for Payless clutch

Figured can't go wrong with red and black at any time, day or night. I'm clearly not the dress-up kinda gal.

I love these sandals but had to break it in a bit. The leather at back part where it zips up needs to soften up. I know only women will ever say things like that. And I don't know why I don't wear this top more often. Although you can't see it that clearly, it's got asymmetrical folds on one of its sleeves which makes for an understated feature.

The evening was fun, as expected. Not a bad way to spend Saturday night, for sure!

Red, and White and Blue (Stripe)

American or not, to me, it's just so easy to gravitate towards these color combo.  It's a no-brainer, easy on the eye, simple and classic. It's not just me, I know that.

Anne Carson jacket & Betsey Johnson belt (Winners),
H&M shirt, Esprit shorts, Payless flats

I've had this jacket for what feels like forever. I know it's time to move on and part with it, but I just can't seem to, despite having even seen a grandma wearing the same thing, no offense.

I've also had this shorts for a while now and every time I consider donating it, I always seem to find a reason not to, aside from the fact that it was a gift.

Well, one of the jacket's pocket got caught on my desk yesterday and the entire one side of the pocket ripped. Seeing that I'm sewing-challenged, I think I may have just found a reason to let it go.

Another well, I just realized looking at these pix that I looked like a swallowed an entire watermelon and it landed on my hips. So, I think I may have just found a reason to let this one go too.

Moving on...

"Red, white and blue..." and coulda added "stars over you..." I suppose, had I been wearing my star-print scarf ... Instead, just "Red, white and blue..." with leopard... Ok, that doesn't even make sense...

Seasons Change...

... Feelings change... People change... I'm gonna totally age myself (meh) but remember that Expose song?

Gap jacket, H&M blouse, AE jeggings, Clarks flats (The Bay)

The weather, for starter, is definitely cooler. I think there was even rain at some point. But it's more than that...

My usual office, that I haven't really been in a couple of weeks decided to meet up after work today. After not seeing them for weeks, it felt really nice to spend some time together. And to me, as happy as the event was, what makes it poignant, though I don't dare tell them that 'cause I don't want them to think that I miss them that much (hah!), is the fact that there are changes looming on the horizon. No words spoken about it, but we all know, things will start changing real soon, and it'll be a big change at that. Heck, I'm not even there and I'm feeling it already.

I'm such a sap, aren't I? I don't care. To me, first of all, that's a good sign that I love the people I work with. And besides, there's nothing wrong with that, is there?

Oy, all part of change, eh?... And growth... And learning... *sigh*...

A Touch of Red

For the first time in weeks, there were gray clouds, which only meant one thing. Noooo!!! Luckily, it didn't stay long. Whew!

Gap dress, Betsey Johnson belt (Winners), Clarks flats (The Bay)

Wasn't at the office today. Had to go for some training. Kinda'(?) glad not having to go to work today in a way. Still kinda' feeling under the weather so it was nice to break up the week. Yay, hump day!

And because it was training after all, left "work" on time, for a change. Even better was it was near our place. I'd been home in less than 10 minutes. But I wasn't, due to some minor detour. Only minor.

Native Western

After all that griping about the weather, I think it's finally out of my system. Hey, if it's cold and rainy, it's cold and rainy. So be it.

BR button-down shirt, AE jeggings, Aerosole boots (Winners)

But it doesn't mean I stop wearing colors. Although, I still refuse, at this point, to revert to my sweaters. I may feel differently tomorrow.

Needless to say, I froze, again, at work.

turquoise necklace (Winners)

I feel like I should be south of our border with this outfit. Somewhere where New Mexico meets Texas. No stereotype intended. Somewhere warm, for sure.

faux leather jacket and scarf (Winners)

And I'm back north again...

TGIFT(omorrow)!

You're a Rock Star... Not

With the fall-like weather we've been having the last few days, almost glad to hear that it wasn't just me getting affected by this unseasonal weather. Other people at work seem to be on the same boat (how appropriate... rain... boat... hehe). Around this time of the year, I guess people are just expecting summery weather already. And when you're not seeing and feeling it, it really throws your psyche off the loop.

Esprit jacket, H&M shirt and scarf, AE jeans,
Tommy Hilfiger boots (Winners)

More wah-wah-wah... How can the weather affect our mood so much?

I suppose I could be talking about less inane stuff, but see, I don't have the energy even for that. Heck, I barely have energy at work, let alone deal with other things. Bah!

Someone at work told me I look like one of those rock stars, with my biker boots and leopard scarf. An aging rock star, perhaps? Circa 1980's? hehe

I guess my outfit almost looks angry and rebellious. Yes, that's it, rebelling against this unseasonal weather, and angry that I've yet to enjoy my summer clothes. Well, ok, I didn't look it. More like felt it, I think.

Ramble, ramble, ramble... *doing the Mick Jagger walk*

HAH!

Weekend Review

Towards the end of last week, it just felt like the hours melded and before I knew it, here we are and it's Sunday already.

Met some friends last minute after work on Friday so there goes Friday evening.

Poet shirt and CK jeans (Winners),
C'est Chic boots (Designer Depot)

(The Bay)
leather cuff (Blue Ruby), wraparound bracelet (The Bay)

And yesterday, even though I only did a couple of things, the day felt really packed. Although I did manage to squeeze in a short nap between tasks hehe But before I knew it, dinner time's come and I just had enough time to make some grubs.

Anne Carson Petite jacket, I.S.I.S. cropped pants
and Two Lips flats (all Winners:p),
Nygard cuff (Sears)

I suppose it didn't help that my allergies started acting up towards the evening.

But now, I'm just glad it's Sunday, a day of rest, for a change. Whew!

Easter Mass

Happy Easter!

H&M blouse, Gap trousers
(Is that an undone button I see?!?)

Thought I'd wear something different than jeans. It is Easter after all. But still not that warm for a dress unfortunately, I thought.

Funny how casual church has become these days. I even saw these father and son last Friday in track pants. Not that I go looking for those things. They just happened to stand in front of me, that's all. Seriously, just an observation, no judgment...

Geox flats (Nordstrom Rack, almost 3 summers ago)

Decided last minute to change shoes. So I switched to the next one.

Naturalizer (old)

I shouldn't have:( Not sure what happened but it just wasn't comfortable at all! Bah! Shoulda' stuck with the first one. Live and learn, I suppose...

RW & Co necklace (recent purch)

Getting dressed up for Easter, not that I totally did as you can see, takes me back to my childhood when my mom would put me and sisses in our froufrou dresses. Not that it lasted long heehee

Anyhoot, off to the kitchen now to make our Easter dinner...

Mourning the Weekend

We had such a nice weekend, I guess it's only fitting it started raining today, on a Monday, and it'll be raining for the rest of the week, apparently.

H&M dress, Gap jacket, Aldo belt,
Aerosole boots (Winners)

Not sure why I decided to go for all black. Was I mourning? Mourning what? The death of another weekend?

But seeing today is Monday after all, all-black just seemed too somber.

(gift from other sis from Cuba)

I'm now back to my usual office. It felt nice to be back. It felt nice to be missed. At least I think I was anyways hehe... Your workplace does become your second "home" sometimes, doesn't it? Just sometimes...

You Wore That to Work?

Nevada shirt (Sears), Rock & Republic jeans (gift from mom),
Reebok kicks (Winners)

Why, yes! HAH!

I know, I know, just because we can pretty much wear anything to work, even something this casual, doesn't mean I should. But boy, am I glad I'm able to, especially on days like today.

Yes, yes, I know, it's only Monday, and not that this Monday was any different in a sense that I was not rushing or anything like that. I guess I just felt like going casual today. heehee

Yes, the "V" sign to show my Asian-ness:p

Finally got around to chopping my hair off. Really loving the shortness of it:)

Really had a cray cray weather today. Weather Channel said it'll be cold (high 6) but sunny. An hour or so into work, it started snowing which turned to rain in half an hour. Break time in the morning, it did get sunny as promised(?), yay! Close to lunch time, it was hailing. Stepped out for a bit during lunch and it was mixed rain and snow. Oh yes, the sun came out again briefly in the afternoon. Then raining lightly by the time I was walking home. Cray cray!!!

(The Bay)

Yup, that's the city for you alright!

And it's only Monday!
