Red, and White and Blue (Stripe)

American or not, to me, it's just so easy to gravitate towards these color combo.  It's a no-brainer, easy on the eye, simple and classic. It's not just me, I know that.

I've had this jacket for what feels like forever. I know it's time to move on and part with it, but I just can't seem to, despite having even seen a grandma wearing the same thing, no offense.

I've also had this shorts for a while now and every time I consider donating it, I always seem to find a reason not to, aside from the fact that it was a gift.

Well, one of the jacket's pocket got caught on my desk yesterday and the entire one side of the pocket ripped. Seeing that I'm sewing-challenged, I think I may have just found a reason to let it go.

Another well, I just realized looking at these pix that I looked like a swallowed an entire watermelon and it landed on my hips. So, I think I may have just found a reason to let this one go too.

Moving on...

"Red, white and blue..." and coulda added "stars over you..." I suppose, had I been wearing my star-print scarf ... Instead, just "Red, white and blue..." with leopard... Ok, that doesn't even make sense...

Rays of Sunshine

Today's outfit satisfies that. Plus, with the temp slowly (but surely) cooling off, I'm sorta feeling this pressure to get the most out of (some) summer outfits, hence today's outfit. Pressure from where? Who knows!

Well, it is the end of August after all, isn't it? Nevertheless, it still feels a lil weird, while getting for work this morning for example, feeling the slight crispness in the air. But hey, it's still summer as far as I'm concerned. It ain't over til it's over...

This slight change in the weather, it's almost fitting, I suppose, coinciding with the (slight) change at work for me. Just like summer kinda' leaving us now, I'm also kinda' leaving (or just did) my current office/position temporarily. Seasons change...

And of course, first day away from my office, announcements were made for some major change ahead for the office. Cray cray!

White Eyelet

Not that I've been living under a rock or something, I say I'm more like choosing to ignore it, but it just occurred to me this morning that we are now practically halfway to August. Which means fall is definitely just around the corner. Noooo!!!

The good thing is I heard it's gonna be a nice week, so for sure, 1 week of summer outfits right there. Watch me gravitate towards fall clothing. HAH!

I've had this dress for a few summers now and last summer, I thought I was done with it, but nope, holding on to it some more, well, at least, for this summer, as you can see. Who knows how I'll feel about it next summer...

(Almost) White and Black

Yesterday, while getting ready, for the first time this summer, I think, I thought to myself that I needed to be comfortable and not sweaty. I wanted as little clothes as possible touching my skin, within reason, of course.

I didn't think I'd say it but, yes, it was that hot. As I was out and about, 'tried to cut through the stores to cool me off every now and then but then I finally realized how rarely we get temps like yesterday's that I just decided to walk outside and fully embrace the heat. I loved it.

Yesterday was also the Pride Parade, which I almost forgot until it was finished and I saw people walking around with rainbow flags. Seriously, so easy to forget it since it happens just around the block from where we are and I tend to take it for granted.

I think I'm getting Olympics overload. But everytime I think of switching channels, I wonder what some dramatic event I could be missing. All from a Canadian perspective, of course. I suppose I could switch it to the American channel every now and then...

O well...

It's been hot since yesterday and it looks like it's gonna be a beautiful long weekend (thanks to BC Day, or extra long weekend, in my case, thanks to Tuesday off, yay!) just like "they" promised.

White on (Almost) White

I thought with all the array of colors I subjected my coworkers to the last couple of days, that I'd give their eyes a break and tone it down.

I originally thought I'd go for a full-on white on white, but I kinda' balked at the idea last minute. The klutz in me surfaces every now and then, didn't want to take that chance.

'Been really loving the weather. I almost want to ask why can't it be like this ALL the time? But then, would I appreciate it as much as I do now if it's constantly like this. When we lived in LA, having this kind of weather most of the time, did I appreciate it really? Don't remember now. Oh, who am I kidding! I probably did and now wish that it's always this nice. But then again, I know I doubly appreciate it now. And when the temperature dips down again, hey, I can always cozy up with hubs.

Sorry, just can't help wearing these bright colors. The long winter we've had musta' really done a number on my fashion brain.

I love the pinkness of this shirt. I normally don't like baby pink shades since it washes me out, but this shade has enough brightness to it, I thought.

It was quite a productive day. Three of us at work did our bimonthly blood donation. Always a perfect excuse to go for dinner after. Gotta replenish that iron after all, no?

Best part, and considering I didn't work on Monday, hump day! HAH!... Weekend, almost there...

Summer Lovin'

After what feels like eternal whining over the crummy weather we've been having, it seems we're finally getting our share of summer. Wheee!!!

One thing that's awesome about this city, if and when we do have a proper summer, is that it offers the perfect summer weather. Must be because of the mountains and the ocean that surround us. The sun is shining, skies are blue, temperature in a comfortable 20's(C). What more can you ask for!

Other than the weather, not much going on really. Work is work. Between documents and clients, talked about a certain book (nudge-nudge, wink-wink... hehe).

Funny enough, it was one of those mornings when I couldn't decide, for the life of me, what to put on. I was running quite late, I had to ask hubs to give me a ride. And more funny than that (well, not really sure if funny is the word, especially if one asks hubs), when I'm really pressed for time like this morning, I come up with outfits that, in my head, will be good for other days. Other days but that day! Nuts!
