Gray Shades of Winter

Ok, I realize it's not quite winter yet, but with the kind of temp we're having, it might as well be, as far as I'm concerned. Mind you, I'm not talking snow. But lotsa' lotsa' rain... wah, wah...

How does one get motivated to dress up when it's so friggin' gray and wet outside that all one wants is to stay in bed, curled up under the sheet? If people think this is too casual for work, too bad people haven't seen my "outfits" the last couple of days. HAH!

High of 8º

Sis and I were chatting on Twitter the other day and we were laughing (virtually) about the way the weather people talk about the temp for the day. Today, for example, they said it'd be a high of 8º (Celsius). How can it be a high, when it's only 8º?!?! That's single digit temp! I know, I know, they meant max. But we just thought it was funny when they put it that way. No?

Brrrrr... it was chilly for sure! But sunny though. Almost felt like East Coast temp. Definitely called for warmer coat.

And today's kinda' my Friday so just taking it real easy. Now changed into my jammies, all set for the weekend, happy sigh...

Getting Ready for Christmas?

Today was spent on an all-day meeting.

Funny how just sitting down all day listening and talking, mostly listening, gets me more exhausted sometimes.

I like how someone said how the color of this dress is really nice and how ready I look for Christmas at the same time. So I'm not really sure if I was complimented or insulted. Hah! Meh, I love this dress regardless.

Today I had to leave quite early as I had an errand to do before work. I was out the door by 7. Yes, that's early, no?

Guess it's the same feeling when you're walking around at 3 in the morning. I almost felt like I should apologize 'cause it almost felt like the walk of shame, from a night of partying, ahem, so I heard...

Rockstar Jeans

So I finally succumbed to the hype about the Old Navy Rockstar jeans. What? Is it just me? Was there no hype? I thought there was. No? hehe

Now I can see why, hype or not. I love how this jeans fit me! And comfy at that!

It's not super skinny since I did go a size up, which seems to be the recommendation out there. I probably didn't have to, I realize, after wearing it, but hey, at least I know now for next time (what next time??).

Thought the color was appropriate too for the weather we're having. What's that got to do with the jeans itself? Nothing. Just saying...

Color Me Red

Woke up this morning and they say it was gonna rain all day. So what did I decide to wear? Why a dress of course.

Got this dress end of last month when it was clearly no longer dress season, but it just doesn't feel right to wait for next summer to wear it. I love the color and the scant flowers. I had to wear it now... hehe...

Now I just have to come up with more ways to wear this dress in the colder season...

When You Live in a Coastal City

I may have mentioned this already in the past but I just find it really interesting how mercurial the weather is in this part of town due to the city's topography and location.

Arrived at the office, a different office, on the other side of (one of) the bridge, and it was chilly. Even too chilly for my trench. And kinda' spitting too. What's up with that!

Apparently, crossing the bridge is all it takes to feel the difference in weather/temperature. So it seems. To me, anyway.

Then Comes the Jacket

This time of the year is always a layering game in my head. Like how long can I hold off wearing a jacket as another layer? And not just a jean jacket...

This is what's good, I think, about this time of the year. Although it's starting to get chilly, for sure, it's still not that chilly, thank god.

Today was definitely chilly. Fall is officially here.

More layers were added as I stepped out when I realized it was cooler than I thought. Well, a denim jacket and a scarf. I say that's still light layering.

Which turned out to be not enough, eeeep.. O well... hehe...

No Time, No Time

I suppose this new assignment I have has got me more tired than I thought, and I'm not even realizing it. On Monday, I forgot to set the alarm the night before, overslept by an hour. Yikes! Then last night, I remembered to set the alarm but what did I do? I kept hitting the snooze button and got up almost 45 minutes later. Hey, I guess 15 minutes better than the day before.

On a sunny note, no really, I mean, literally sunny, hehe the weather's been gorgeous. Not sure how much longer we're gonna have this kind of weather but soaking up every bit of it.

Feeling that itch again to wear every imaginable color I have in the closet. Fall is just around the corner, after all, as in 3 days around the corner, no?

Is the weather alone enough to make up for the busy-ness of work lately? Not really, but it's a mighty fine consolation, for sure..

Friday was just a craycray day for me. It flew by fast for sure, which was good 'cause brain was fried at the end of the day. All I could think of was where's the closest liquor store 'cause I gotta get me some wine. HAH!

Haven't had a week that busy in a while, ssshhhh hehe... In the end, guess that's a good thing. Brain juices had to swirl around every now and then, right?

Summer (Prep) School

Well, actually, it is kinda' a uniform for me when all else fails, especially in the summer (duh, shorts in winter? pfft). Button-down shirt, shorts and flats... 

Full day today at work. Meeting in the morning, back to the office in the afternoon, then got news late in the afternoon that I could be working in a different office, again, for the next month or so. Then, pedi after. Ok, the pedi wasn't part of work, but it was still part of my day. Hafta! hehe...

Well, it does, doesn't it? HAH! It's funny 'cause that's the very reason why I wasn't a fan of gingham in the past but I obviously got over that.

And funny enough, remarks like that, in my young(er) years, would have sent my insecurities to the forefront that it would've bugged me and made me feel uncomfortable for the rest of the day. Oh, the follies of youth...

Now, I actually thought comments like that are just amusing. Gave me something to write about, for starter. HAH!

This top was purchased over the weekend at the store. It's been going in and out of my virtual cart for months now but never got around to going thru with it. Luck of all luck, it was on clearance at the store and with an additional 20% off thanks to an email alert, I figured I had no other reason not to buy it. Well, that's how I'm justifying it anyways hehe...

I love this dress even though it's a few years old already. It actually was a hand-me-down from a friend. I didn't think I'm a green color kinda' gal until I was given this dress. And now, I like this color a lot, any shade of green, well, most shades.

After work, I was given a ticket for an advanced screening of Bourne Legacy. Melike lots!...

While family and friends are enjoying a heatwave in Ontario, us folks this side of the coast are experiencing the opposite. Gah!
