Wide Calves and Flowers

Here's another dress that was bought near the end of summer. Seems a waste if I had to wait til next summer, no? You know what I mean...

RW&Co dress (recent purch), Nicole Miller cardi,
H&M knee-high socks, Aerosole boots (Winners)

I gotta admit this wasn't the boots I was intending to wear. However, with the woolen socks and all (by all, I mean my wide calves hehe), the black boots I was planning to wear didn't quite work out. I even tried a second pair. But alas, no. Hence, the brown boots.

... love the bow detail:p

I suppose I'd take the wide calves. It's a reminder of the amount of walking I do. Yes, I'm just saying that to make myself feel a lil better...

HAH!

A Touch of Neon

Although it has cooled off considerably these last 2 days, the whole of last week was quite gorgeous. It almost felt like summer all over again. Oh, but wait, technically it was still summer up until yesterday. Ah, so there you go...

cardi (old), RW & Co dress, J Crew belt,
Clarks flats (The Bay), necklace (old),
Joe Fresh cuff (recent purch), BR bracelet

Had a super busy week at work last week. Didn't really think it was until Thursday night hit and there I was realizing how exhausted I was. Wednesday, in particular, was cray cray... *sigh*...

Must figure out a way to relax...

How Else to Dress it Up?

In my young(er) years, I've never really been a dress person. I think it was kinda' a backlash from years and years of wearing dress as a child, thanks to mom. I've always considered my style to have a touch of masculine to it, ie, until a friend got me into dresses, again.

RW&Co dress, BR belt (Outlet), H&M flats,
Nygard cuff & J Crew bracelet

Like my friend said, getting "dressed" (get it? hehe) become so easy since there goes your top and bottom.

(probably coulda' ironed this better)

But take this dress tho'. On its own, how do I change the look other than change the accessories, in the summer anyways? And does it really change the look entirely? Who am I kiddding! But then again, does it take away how much I like it? No, not really. So what am I griping about? Actually, I dunno...

Oh dilemma, dilemma... pffft...

White on (Almost) White

I thought with all the array of colors I subjected my coworkers to the last couple of days, that I'd give their eyes a break and tone it down.

H&M shirt, Gaultier jeans & Elise M belt (Winners),
RW&Co necklace

I originally thought I'd go for a full-on white on white, but I kinda' balked at the idea last minute. The klutz in me surfaces every now and then, didn't want to take that chance.

'Been really loving the weather. I almost want to ask why can't it be like this ALL the time? But then, would I appreciate it as much as I do now if it's constantly like this. When we lived in LA, having this kind of weather most of the time, did I appreciate it really? Don't remember now. Oh, who am I kidding! I probably did and now wish that it's always this nice. But then again, I know I doubly appreciate it now. And when the temperature dips down again, hey, I can always cozy up with hubs.

bracelets: J Crew and BR, bangle: J Crew
Cole Haan loafers

Meeting some colleagues for dinner tomorrow night, so already looking forward to Friday, without a doubt.

Yay!

Pink and Polka Dots

You'd think that after the sleep-deprived night before last (ok, sleep-reduced), that I'd have tried to make up for it last night. Nope.

Poetry shell cardi (Winners), RW&Co necklace,
Zara top, J Crew cord pants, Gap belt, Clarks flats (The Bay)

I figured I only have one more workday left in the week, I can get my sleep later...

Looking forward to my 5-day weekend, that's for sure. I probably would've looked more forward to it if the weather is cooperating. Whine, whine, whine. Everybody seems to be talking about starting to enjoy their summer already. Everybody but us in this city, boo!

But hey, 5 days is 5 days, right?

I see sleeping, reading, lunch/dinner with friends, sleeping in late (yes, I mentioned sleep twice). *happy sigh*

Wet Friday

So, the retirement party finally came to fruition last night. It was pouring rain, not that we were soaked since we were inside the restaurant after all, but it definitely didn't put a damper on people's mood.

RW&Co dress, H&M flats, accessories (old)

We were worried that not too many people would show up, but the opposite thing happened. Everybody on the guest list showed up. Then there were people who didn't RSVP showed up as well. We all know why they showed up. Same reason why we organized it, to begin with. He's just that kind of person.

Needless to say, it was a fun soiree. Most importantly, the guest of honor had the best time. Mission accomplished.

Woke up still a tad tired this morning, but hey, I thought it was worth it. I did have an awesome time... This is what weekend's for, no?
